Register for Poland Trip

November 2015 / Cheshvan 5776

Dear Parents and Alumni,

For the past Five years, Reishit has been arranging an exciting and independent trip to Poland. We are excited to announce this year’s Reishit trip to two countries, Poland and the Czech Republic will departing for Prague on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. The return flight to Israel will be on Thursday, April 14. We’ve designed an inspiring itinerary and comprehensive educational schedule. Our goal is twofold. While our journey will focus on important historic Torah centers and examine and celebrate Jewish life in Eastern Europe by visiting ancient shuls, the resting places of Gedolim, Chassidic Rebbes & extraordinary Jews, and communities of pre-War Poland, we will also bear witness to the horrors of the Shoah together, and BE”H, emerge more informed, inspired and committed to our tradition and People.

In years past, our talmidim have experienced this trip with outside organizations and private tour providers. In recent years families have found the increase in price to be prohibitive, and many talmidim have not been able to participate as a result. Running our own trip has numerous obvious educational, pedagogic and logistic benefits, not least of which is the reduced price of $2369 – hundreds of dollars less than last year’s Heritage program.

The cost of the program is all inclusive:

·         Round-trip airfare from Israel to Prague

·         Full board and hotel accommodations throughout

·         Traveler’s insurance

·         Modern, air conditioned coach buses

·         Accompaniment by security guard

·         Transportation from Reishit to the airport

·         Comprehensive Jewish Guide & Educational Map of Poland

Logistic arrangements are being coordinated through Shorashim / Diesenhause-Unitours, one of the largest and most experienced tour providers to Eastern Europe.

“Shorashim/ Diesenhause-Unitours” work in conjunction with Israel’s Ministry of Education, and facilitate travel to Poland for over 5,000 Israeli students annually.

Please see the attached flyer and previous years’ itineraries.

*Deadline for applications is December 15, 2015/ 3 Tevet 5776. (NOTE: Applications must be completed online, no handwritten applications will be accepted). First come, first served.

In past years we have had several fathers accompanying us on the trip. Their attendance has always added significantly to our experience. If there are fathers interested in attending, please email us at . Attendance will be based on availability of space. We will notify you after the Dec. 15 deadline.

We look forward to your participation and to sharing this most meaningful experience together.
